Agencies of recreation in physical education

” Any group or organisation which provide recreational services to the population whether for free or by taking money is called a recreation agency. “

In simple words we can say that recreational service providers are known as the agencies of recreation.

Following are the agencies of recreation : –

Government recreation Agency –

Government recreation agencies are run by the government and are established for providing recreation facilities to people. These agencies work for ensuring recreation services to the population without the motive to earn money. ”Public Agency” is the another term used for these agencies.

Examples of governmental recreation agencies –

  • National Parks
  • Museums
  • Zoo

Autonomous Recreational Agency –

Autonomous Recreation Agencies manage to provide recreational services on their own but are affiliated by government.

Examples of Autonomous Recreation Agencies –

  • Y.M.C.A. ( Young Men’s Christian Association )
  • Youth Club
  • Scout Club

Business recreation agency –

The agencies which take fee for providing recreation facilities are known as Business Recreational Agencies.

Examples Of Business Recreation Agencies –

  • Water park
  • Cinema
  • Resort
  • Circus

Private Recreation Agency –

In this type of recreational agency the services of recreation are provided only to the people who are within an institution.

Examples of Private Recreational Agencies –

  • A Club in which only members of a particular company are allowed
  • Social group
